Plevenliev Bulgaria's new president - official result

Sofia - Rosen Plevenliev is Bulgaria's new president, the state election commission formally confirmed Monday, a day after the second round of presidential elections.
Plevenliev, a candidate for the ruling conservative GERB party, won 52.5 per cent of the vote. His rival, Socialist Ivaylo Kalfin, had 47.4, the commission said with 98 per cent of the ballots counted.
Plevenliev, 47, replaces Socialist Georgi Parvanov, who had served the maximum two five-year terms.
