Two Russian cities claim seven billionth baby

Moscow - Two Russian cities on Monday announced competing claims of having the world's seven billionth baby born inside their limits, according to news reports.
A boy named Petr Alekseyevich Nikolayev was born at 1202 am Monday (2102 GMT Sunday) in the Baltic Sea port city Kaliningrad, making him the world's seven billionth inhabitant, the Rossiya 24 television channel reported.
But Russia's Pacific coast city Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky saw the birth of a boy named Aleksandr at 1219 am local time (1219 GMT on Sunday), making him the world's first infant born on Monday and so the planet's seven billionth resident, the Interfax news agency reported.
Local governments were planning award ceremonies at both locations.
Mothers and children were doing fine, the reports said.
