Nov 24, 2011, 18:13 GMT
Paris - A French maintenance worker was killed and two others were seriously injured when the elevator they were repairing fell on them and crushed them, emergency services said Thursday.
The accident took place in a building in north-east Paris. The men were working in the elevator shaft when the cable snapped, causing the cab to plunge.
Rescue workers took about two hours to free the victims from the elevator. A fourth worker suffered minor injuries.
