Springsteen to attend Norwegian massacre anniversary
Dec 14, 2011, 20:09 GMT
Oslo - US rockstar Bruce Springsteen is to attend the one year anniversary commemorations of the Norwegian Utoya island massacre, according to a local media report on Wednesday.
Oslo's Young Labour party members had asked him to join the ceremony and had received a 'positive answer', TV2 reported.
Right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik gunned down 69 people at a Labour Party youth camp on July 22. He had earlier in the day killed eight people by setting off a car bomb near the Norwegian government's headquarters.
Springsteen is set to go on a European tour next summer and will be appearing in Norway twice.
The Labour Party youth organization AUF has already said it plans to hold its youth camp next year as planned.
