Podolski delays sinus operation
Jan 2, 2012, 11:02 GMT
Berlin - Germany forward Lukas Podolski is delaying an operation on his sinuses to be available for the full winter break training camp of his Bundesliga club Cologne.
The Bild daily on Monday quoted Podolski as saying he would miss five days of training and that he would have to work hard to catch up on fitness again. Doctors recommended surgery after Podolski complained about chronic sinus problems.
Podolski is Cologne's leading scorer this season with 14 goals. The club rank 10th in the league and play the first match after hibernation on January 21 in Wolfsburg.
