Warsaw Museum buys Lego concentration camp

Warsaw - A Lego model of a concentration camp made by Polish artist Zbigniew Libera has been bought by the Warsaw Museum, the museum reported on its website Monday.
'Lego: A Concentration Camp' was first displayed in 1996 at the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw and criticized by some for trivializing the Holocaust.
According to the museum, Libera's Lego set includes 'barracks, piles of dead bodies, a watch tower with guardians and a gas chamber,' which he later packed into boxes that exactly replicate real Lego sets.
It was later displayed at the New York Jewish Museum as part of a 'Mirroring Evil' exhibition.
The Warsaw Museum bought the piece from a Norwegian collector for 55,000 euros (71,000 dollars).
The work was made with bricks donated by Lego, although the company later denied that it knew what the bricks were to be used for.
