Podolski dismisses Euro 2012 fear over ankle injury
Jan 30, 2012, 11:17 GMT
Cologne, Germany - Cologne striker Lukas Podolski has dismissed fears he could miss Euro 2012 after a scan confirmed a problem with an old ankle injury.
The Germany international was quoted by Monday's Bild daily as saying missing Euro 2012 was 'not an issue' but he would not set a date for his return.
Cologne said they expected Podolski to be sidelined 'for three to four weeks' after he left Saturday's 4-1 home to defeat to Schalke with a swollen left ankle.
A scan on Sunday confirmed a slight tear to ligaments damaged in pre-season training.
