Boateng: van Buyten, Rafinha absence won't hurt Munich
Feb 1, 2012, 14:07 GMT
Munich - Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich don't have a defensive problem despite the absence of Daniel van Buyten and Rafinha, Germany player Jerome Boateng said on Wednesday.
'Of course it is annoying that both will be missing. But we have enough quality to make up for it in Hamburg,' Boateng said, looking ahead at Saturday's game at SV Hamburg.
The central defender van Buyten is sidelined for several weeks with a foot fracture and right-back Rafinha is serving a suspension.
Boateng took van Buyten's place last week but will likely be the right back on Saturday while Luiz Gustavo or Anatoly Tymoshchuk join Holger Badstuber in central defence.
In addition, Brazilian defender Breno is set to return to the squad in a comeback from knee problems and personal issues, as he is suspected of arson in connection with a fire in his house in autumn.
Munich lead the way in the Bundesliga but champions Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are level on points with them.
