Lazio rally with 10 men to stun Cesena
Feb 9, 2012, 21:57 GMT
Rome - Lazio rallied from two goals down with 10 men to beat Cesena 3-2 on Thursday in a game that opened the 23rd Serie A round.
Brazilian Hernanes, Bosnian defender Senad Lulic and Czech substitute Libor Kozak were on target in an impressive second half that saw Lazio complete a rally that pushed them into third place.
Strikers Adrian Mutu and Vincenzo Iaquinta from the spot scored in the first half, when Lazio's French defender Abdoulay Konko was dismissed for a foul that was sanctioned with the penalty.
The game was played unusually on Thursday as Rome's Stadio Olimpico hosts Saturday's rugby game between Italy and England in the Six Nations Championship.
Udinese look to claw back third place when they welcome champions AC Milan on Saturday. Leaders Juventus play Sunday at Bologna with a game in hand and a one-point lead over Milan.
