Feb 14, 2012, 6:33 GMT
Athens - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rattled north-eastern Greece early Tuesday, but no damage or injuries were immediately reported, officials said.
The epicentre was 24 kilometres under the sea bed, 110 kilometres south-east of Thessaloniki, the country's second-largest city, on the coast of the Halkidiki peninsula, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said.
The quake, which hit at 3:34 am (0134 GMT), was followed by several smaller aftershocks.
