Four bodies located inside sunken Costa Concordia
Feb 22, 2012, 12:41 GMT
Rome - Firefighters have located four bodies trapped inside the Costa Concordia, the cruise liner that sank off Italy's western coast on January 13, officials said Wednesday.
The bodies, which have yet to be recovered and identified, were found inside the ship's Bridge 4, Italian media reported, quoting local rescue officials. One of them is thought to belong to Dayana Arlotti, a 5-year-old Italian girl who had been on the cruise with her father and who had been listed as missing since the accident.
The Concordia sank after hitting rocks when it sailed too close to the small island of Giglio.
Prior to Wednesday's discoveries, 17 people had been certified dead from the disaster, while the status of 15 remains unknown.
