First case of swine flu confirmed in Austria
Apr 29, 2009, 11:43 GMT
Vienna - Austria's Health Ministry on Wednesday confirmed that there was one case of swine flu in the country.
A 28-year-old woman returned with the H1N1 virus after visiting her parents in Guatemala and has been admitted to a Vienna hospital.
Tests on the four other suspected cases of travellers who recently came back from Mexico have turned out negative, but two new possible cases are being investigated.
The infected woman went directly from the airport to the hospital on Monday night, as she was suffering from flu symptoms. She is recovering well, her doctors told Austrian press agency APA.
A genetic test of the virus she carries confirmed the initial diagnosis.
