New case of swine flu brings to five number in Italy
May 5, 2009, 10:18 GMT
Rome - Italy's Health Ministry Tuesday confirmed a new case of swine flu, bringing to five the number of people in the country found to have been infected with the influenza A (H1N1) virus.
The latest case involves a 32-year-old man who, after returning from a trip to Mexico on April 30, manifested symptoms of the flu including a high temperature, the Ministry said in a statement.
The man has been treated since May 2 at a hospital in Florence. As a preventative measure, doctors have been administering anti-viral therapy to the man's father who had also travelled on the same trip to Mexico, the statement said.
As in the previous four cases in Italy, the man's condition was described as good.
