Taiwan's swine-flu cases double to six (Roundup)

Taipei - Taiwan on Friday reported three more confirmed infections with the new strain of the H1N1 flu virus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to six.
The latest cases included a woman and her daughter who who tested positive Friday after becoming ill on their return from a trip to the Philippines last week, the Centres for Disease control (CDC) said.
The two returned to Taipei on Wednesday and became ill the next day, by which time the daughter had already returned to her kindergarten.
The Education Ministry have ordered the kindergarten and an adjacent middle school to close for a week.
A third confirmed case announced Friday involved the sister of a woman who was confirmed to be infected on Thursday. The sisters tested positive for the virus after visiting the United States.
Taiwan reported its first confirmed case of H1N1 Wednesday, after an Australian cruise-ship doctor tested positive for the virus following a trip to the US.
All six swine-flu patients were recovering in hospital in Taiwan.
