Paris buys 100 million doses of anti-viral vaccine

Paris - France in preparations for a possible increase in swine flu cases in the coming winter has purchased 100 million doses of vaccines against the A(H1N1) virus, the French weekly Journal du Dimanche reported Sunday.
It is unclear whether the national health care system or the treasury would be picking up the tab.
So far around 100 people have died worldwide from the new influenza, also known as swine flu. According to experts, the spread of the disease has been slowed by warmer weather, and a wave of infections is expected come winter.
France has seen 24 cases out of the worldwide total of more than 15,500.

Influenza; be it caused by A1, A2 or the present H1N1 strain are viral in origin. An infection that is considered by the medical community as a Self Limiting Disease. This means, supportive treatment (if symptoms is visible) is rather favorable than in any forms of prescription and or vaccination.
Scientific results on flu vaccine does not assure a maximum protection. However, there are oral tablets that proves to be potent in shortening the course of the disease. Amantadine HCL has been in the market for many years and that medical community has earned the proof of positive results on flu cases treated with the drug.
