Swine flu outbreak closes Australian prison

Sydney - Up to 70 inmates at a far-north Queensland prison could have the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu, Australian authorities said Thursday.
A spokesman for the Lotus Glen facility said a 34-year-old prisoner had tested positive for swine flu and a further 69 were displaying flu-like symptoms.
The prison has been closed to visitors, and prisoners will only be allowed to leave for court appearances after being checked by a nurse.
Ten people with swine flu have died in Australia. Most, if not all, had serious underlying health issues before they contracted the virus.
