Ban: UN needs 1 billion dollars for swine flu (Extra)

Geneva- United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said ahead of a meeting with donors Monday that his organization would need 1 billion dollars to deal with the swine flu pandemic.
'We need to get more resources available,' Ban told reporters in Geneva, calling for 'global solidarity.'
While vaccine manufacturers had said they would have doses ready by the autumn, the funds to help the world's poorer nations deal with the H1N1 virus were still lacking, he said.
