Aug 15, 2009, 10:36 GMT
Seoul - South Korean health authorities Saturday reported the country's first death from swine flu.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said the victim was a man in his mid-50s who likely died from pneumonia and other complications resulting from the H1N1 virus.
KCDC said the man was struck by high fever after his return from a trip to Thailand a week ago and was sent to hospital, where he was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus.
