Australia says "no evidence" French PIP breast implants faulty
Jan 4, 2012, 22:54 GMT
Sydney - Australian women with breast implants made by French company Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) learned Thursday that they were no more at risk of ruptures than those with silicone-gel implants from alternative suppliers.

The assurance came after the French government recommended the removal of PIP implants.
Australian authorities sided with their British counterparts, who said earlier this week that PIP rupture rates were in keeping with rates for other implants.
