Jaipur to host international tourism bazaar in April

Jaipur, Dec 14 (IANS) Rajasthan will be hosting its first-ever international tourism mart in Jaipur from April 21-23, 2008.
To be known as the Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2008, the mega mart will be organised by the union ministry of tourism, Rajasthan's tourism department and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci).
Leading national and regional associations like Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Hotel and Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR) and Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) are supporting the event.
Rajasthan's Minister of State for Tourism Usha Punia said the objective of this international event is to reinforce India as a world-class destination.
'Over 100 key foreign tour operators and travel writers from all over the world will be attending the event,' Punia said.
Rajasthan's principal secretary for tourism Mira Mehrishi said there will be interactive sessions spread over three days for brainstorming on opportunities and potential of India as a tourist destination with national and international experts.
'There will be a plethora of buyer-seller meetings,' said Mehrishi.
The first road show to market the prestigious international event is being held at Jodhpur Dec 15.
Leading tour operators, travel agencies and hoteliers of the region have been invited to be part of the event.
