Dec 14, 2007, 13:51 GMT
Shimla, Dec 14 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi will hold two election rallies in Shimla and Una Saturday ahead of the assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh, a party spokesman said here Friday.
She will first address a rally in Una district later in the state capital Shimla, the spokesman said.
Earlier this week, the Congress president had to cancel her rallies in Mandi and Nurpur as her helicopter could not land due to bad weather.
Inclement weather has led to cancellation of several election rallies in the state.
Local leaders and their supporters are hoping that the weather would allow Gandhi's rallies to take place.
The second and final phase of polling for 65 assembly seats will be Dec 19 and the counting Dec 28.
The first phase of polling took place Nov 14 for the three tribal seats of Bharmaur, Lahual & Spiti and Kinnaur districts due to forecast of early snowfall in the mountain regions.
