Dec 28, 2005, 11:54 GMT
New Delhi - India Wednesday successfully tested a nuclear-capable ballistic missile, called Dhanush, a news agency reported.
Dhanush (meaning bow in Hindi), a naval version of India's surface-to-surface Prithvi (Earth) missile, was succesfully test-fired from a warship in the Bay of Bengal, the IANS news agency reported.
The missile has a range of 250 kilometres and is capable of carrying nuclear warheads, the agency said.
Dhanush is one of the five missiles in India's integrated guided missile development programme and is being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization.
