Dutch deliver six F-16s to Chile
Sep 9, 2006, 15:54 GMT
The Hague - Chile has taken delivery of six F-16 fighter-bombers that were previously in use by the Dutch Royal Air Force, the defence ministry said in The Hague Saturday.
The F-16s were flown Friday from their base at Twenthe in the Netherlands to Antofagasta in northern Chile.
Chile has now bought a total of 18 F-16s from the Netherlands.
The Dutch government has decided to cut its flight of F-16s from 137 to 108 for budgetary reasons.
Jordan has shown interest in another eight of the US-made aircraft, which are in service all over the world.
