Ahmadinejad calls the Holocaust a "pretext" to create Israel
Jan 17, 2007, 10:55 GMT
Madrid - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday described the Holocaust as a 'pretext' for the creation of Israel in a Western attempt to dominate the region.
Ahmadinejad made the comments in an interview published by the Spanish daily El Mundo, which met the president during his visit to the Nicaraguan capital Managua.
Ahmadinejad said researchers were not allowed to 'ask questions' about the Holocaust. 'If it really existed, where did it take place,' he queried, asking what the Palestinians had to do with it.
Ahmadinejad called the Holocaust a 'pretext' for the establishment of the 'dictatorial, totalitarian' Israeli regime which 'was created essentially to threaten other nations.'
Western countries had 'imposed' the 'Sionist regime' on the region to promote their economic and political interests, Ahmadinejad charged.
But Israel 'will never dare attack' Iran, 'neither they nor their masters,' he added.
Ahmadinejad also accused the United States and Britain of 'favouring' insecurity in Iraq and of seeking to divide its population along religious lines.

> Of course the Holocaust happened, it is well documented ...
Go check yourself before lecturing uninformed readers. The 'Holocaust' is a sheer fraud riddled with countless physical impossibilities, obvious false testimonies, and judgments from kangaroo courts.

I have been to Dachau, I have talked with people who were in the camps and have talked with the people who knew what was going on there while it was happening. Anyone who denies that this happened in the face of such overwhelming evidence is either a liar or an unbelievable moron. Probably both.
The Iranian president is a fool and a poor representative for the Iranian people. Since he is puppet controlled by Iranian clerics, his statements speak volumes about their state of mind as well.

This is a well-worn claim, assuming that the reporting is correct verbatim.
As usual, the half-truths abound in such propaganda wars. Of course the Holocaust happened, it is well documented ... but the Zionist idea of an Israel precedes the last century, as does Hertzl's Zionism.
Ahmadinejad has it right, however, in asking what the Palestinian native population had to do with the Holocaust.
I'd prefer a discussion along the Middle: Israel may exist within the borders prior to 1967, but an international fund will compensate the Palestinian families who lost their land and property when they were driven away.
In return, Israel will leave ALL the 1967-occupied territories according to UNSC-resolution 242, which Israel ignores for 40 years, by now. So bye-bye Wall of Shame and bye-bye West Bank 'neighborhoods'.
The compensation is much cheaper than the continued warring of the parties.
