Ahmadinejad rejects possibility of feared US attack against Iran
Jan 23, 2007, 21:30 GMT
Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday insisted that there was no chance of a military attack by the United States against Iran was.
'The US is neither in a position nor does it have the capability to attack Iran,' Ahmadinejad said in a live interview on state television network IRIB. 'The threats are only a psychological war for creating an atmosphere of fear and tension and intimidating the nation.'
There is growing concern within Iranian society that the US might attack Iran due to its defiance of the United Nations Security Council resolution 1737 and refusal to suspend uranium enrichment.
According to the local opposition, Ahmadinejad and his government were underestimating the US threats, especially the US announced deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Stennis in the Persian Gulf.
'What can one carrier do? Iran is not just a spot in the region to be destroyed by a carrier,' the president said.
Ahmadinejad said that due to Washington's continuation of wrong policies in Iraq, the US would remain in that country and not start another war.
'We, however, know that as a country with nuclear know-how we will stay under pressure,' he said.
Asked by a reporter whether he was 'not worried about the future of the country,' Ahmadinejad replied: 'No, I am really not worried.'
He sounded reconciliatory tones toward the US and said that Iran would be willing to listen to US positions if Washington stopped its hostilities towards Iran.
'I sent (US President George W) Bush a letter and proposed a televised debate (both last year) because we have some logic and are ready to listen to their viewpoints as well - but Bush neither replied to the letter nor accepted the debate,' Ahmadinejad said.
While rejecting US allegations that Iran is a threat to the region and global peace, Ahmadinejad said that Iran has never initiated any war but just defended itself.
'We have never been after using force because we are a country of dialogue and logic,' Ahmadinejad said.

I wish some terroeistis from Iran would come down my street, iam not worried thought
Like a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, the Chinese just proved they can prevent US spy-satellite intelligence systems from sustaining a non-ground war.
That was huge.
So now Israel would launch a nuclear attack at much greater peril, and the US would have to be willing to end up waging a ground war that they plainly can't afford. Nor would they ever be able to garner either domestic or international support for such an offensive.
'What me worry?' might actually be an appropriate posture.
Bush would totally have to abandon the fig leaf of US domestic democracy and make such a war as a completely totalitarian act.
Don't worrie about China there are not let there country be destroyed by a couple hundred nukes.Ahmadinadummy is very brave so he can leed his people to there death, but where will he be hideing out?????

No, that is not what they proved at all. They proved that they could make a mess in orbit, that is about it. Seriously, trust me on that one thing.
''What me worry?' might actually be an appropriate posture.'
If you bury your head in the sand they will soon bury your ass there too.

What, me worry?Jan 24th, 2007 - 00:17:38
'The US is neither in a position nor does it have the capability to attack Iran'
See folks, nothing to worry about.
'What can one carrier do? Iran is not just a spot in the region to be destroyed by a carrier,' the president said.'
See folks, he has a firm grip on reality, nothing to fear here! Who's worried? Not Mahmoud! The hidden Imam will come to the rescue!
(Stennis and Ike, the 2 carrier task forces deployed EACH have MORE firepower then the entire amount of munitions used in all theaters of combat throughout WW2, including the 2 atomic bombs.)
'Asked by a reporter whether he was 'not worried about the future of the country,' Ahmadinejad replied: 'No, I am really not worried.''
What is there to be worried about? All this worry, it causes wrinkles and indigestion. Nothing to see here folks, show 's over, go home. Move along...
'We have never been after using force because we are a country of dialogue and logic,' Ahmadinejad said.'
See! he is completely grounded in reality, so why would anyone worry?
