Iranian women activists arrested in Tehran

Tehran - An unidentified number of Iranian women activists were arrested Sunday in Tehran, the ISNA news agency reported.
A group of women had gathered in front of the revolutionary court - in charge of cases related to national security - in support of activists arrested last June during a demonstration in Tehran which had demanded more rights for women in Islamic Iran.
As the women had not previously informed the Interior Ministry, the police declared the gathering illegal and tried to disperse the protestors.
The general prosecutor of Tehran issued an arrest warrant after the women resisted arrest, and an unspecified number of women were transferred to the notorious Evin prison in north Tehran, ISNA said, without providing further details.
During last June's demonstration in Tehran city centre, some 200 women protested against the violation of women's rights in Iran. After clashes with police, over 40 women and about 30 men were arrested. It is unclear however how many of them are still in prison.
Women in Iran, who must respect the Islamic dress code of contour-hiding gowns or long coats, and scarves hiding their hair, face legal discrimination in cases such as divorce, child custody and inheritance.
Women also need permission by their husbands to leave the country. But contrary to some other Islamic countries, they can hold executive jobs, even in politics, and are free to vote nationwide.

All praise be to Allah The Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds
Before we begin our campaign, we would like for all women of this planet from all walks of life to please find it in their hearts to forgive the pain, death and
disrespect that we men have caused you for so many thousands of years. Our arrogant ignorance has created this separation from the warmth patience and love you have given us these many thousands of years. You are the greatest treasure the earth has given us, and yet some of us still do not recognize or even appreciate what gifts you bring to this planet. Our religions and politics have enslaved many of you, and have programmed you to think you must submit to our will. That is not true, you are our equal, our other half of reason, our mate for eternity. It is our responsibility to care for you and love you as ONE and not as a second-class person.
We of the American Republic will not allow anyone male or female to ever degrade your status as a human being. We will protect you from whatever comes your way, and build with you a new Republic based on respect and truth. WE will fight for your unconditional freedom as Women, to be free from the chains of men and ignorance, and not ever to be subjects of desire. In the American Republic, women will have the same dignity and respect due all humans no matter your lifestyle or intelligence. We do not segregate by class, all are welcome without regard of status or place of origin.
Nature created us both to live as one in peace and take care of our home called earth, and so it shall be so.
We are a Legion of many who only wants to live a life of peace and respect for all living things and have considerations for those who are different and look for ways to truly accommodate those who are slow in understanding.
We support the poor, helpless, and defenseless people. We support the freedom of Women, we support the sane treatment of animals and the environment, we support the freedom of religion and expression. We do not support ignorance, period.
We are a growing nation of people that encourage anyone or Nation anywhere to become part of the New American Republic!
