Mar 14, 2007, 14:35 GMT
Amman - Jordan's King Abdullah II met Wednesday with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and urged backing for national reconciliation efforts in Iraq, according to an Official statement.
The monarch 'stressed the need for extending support to efforts aimed at achieving national reconciliation with the participation of all components of the Iraqi people', the royal court said.
Talabani 'thanked Jordan for the medical care he was accorded' at King Hussein Medical Centre, where he was moved on February 25 after suffering sudden health irregularities in his home province of Kurdistan, the statement added.
The two leaders discussed 'efforts under way to ensure that the forthcoming Arab summit in Riyadh on March 28 be a success', the statement said.
Talabani praised the outcome of the recent conference that was held in Baghdad with the participation of Iraq's neighbours including Syria and Iran.
'He in particular commended the coordination of efforts by Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt with the aim of arriving at a united, secure and stable Iraq,' the statement said.

If there is ever going to be peace in Iraq it will come from the Kurds and Jordan. Jordan is a wonderful contry filled with warm hearted people and the Kurds have the best controlled area within Iraq's boarders. Long live President Jalal Talabani and the Royal family of Jordan.
