Muqtada al-Sadr appears in public for the first time in months

May 25, 2007, 9:59 GMT

Baghdad - Shiite cleric and militia leader Muqtada al-Sadr appeared for the first time in months during the Muslim Friday prayer in Kufa mosque in Najaf, state-run al-Iraqiya TV reported Friday.

Since February, there had been conflicting claims over the whereabouts of al-Sadr. Some reports said he was still in Najaf, while others said he had left for Iran.

Samy al-Askari, an advisor to Premier Nuri al-Maliki, said on February 15 that al-Sadr was in Tehran but was soon due to return to Iraq. On its part, the Sadr movement denied that its leader was in the Iranian capital.

The denials came amid other claims by the movement that the reports about al-Sadr being in Tehran were an attempt by the US military, using rumours, to lure him from his hideout.

The al-Sadr movement had recently engaged in political disputes with the Iraqi government al-Maliki due to his refusal to set a timetable for foreign withdrawal from Iraq. The movement, accordingly, pulled out its six ministers from the government.

The Shiite Sadr movement, led by the radical al-Sadr, occupies 30 seats in the 275-seat Iraqi parliament. Under the umbrella of the movement is the so-called 'Mahdi army,' the largest armed militia in Iraq.

A war is going on.........May 25th, 2007 - 10:14:27

There is a war going on, in case you're not noticing, or didn’t want to look!.
It is between Islamic FundaMENTAList vs. the rest of the world, but mainly the west.
Look at any 'explosions' bombings, massive killings, kid nappings assignations and I guarantee you that a muslim is involved somewhere.
I encourage you to check this out for yourself.
Look at all the headlines on the internet. I use Google, but any search service is fine.
Look at stories where there is man made destruction, or loss of life.
I GRAUNTEE YOU THAT 99% of the time MUSLIMS will be involved.
This in my opinion shows a war is being waged.
Go ahead see for yourself.

a war is going on...based on lies!May 25th, 2007 - 10:46:30

Yes there is a war going on, based on lies upon lies close to a million people hav been killed in iraq....Millions more have been made homeless.

Muslims are being attacked everywhere, the largest refugee movement in the world is from afghanistan into pakistan, why?

Think about that!

The US has murdered more people than any other nation after world war 2, thats a fact. And is responsible for even more deaths indirectly, by supporting corrupt regimes all over the world, such as the taliban and the late saddam hussain.

What a ridiculous post. Iraq was invaded by the West not the other way around. If it wasn\'t for the stinking Jews the world would be at piece. Check out the Jewish Scriptures, Also check out ://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/february/25/newsid_4167000/416 7929.stm This guy is a respected Jewish doctor. They still call him a hero in Israel. According to the Jewish Talmud the life of 10 gentiles which means 10 none Jews is not worth the toe nail of a Jew. Jewish doctors are mistreating patients deliberately all over the world because that is what there sick religion tells them to do. Everything is the Jews fault. Just look at their History. Kicked out of every single Country they have ever entered. WHY? Because the leaders of the Country read the Jewish scriptures, Jews kill Children, especially white Christian children. They are the biggest liars and bastards, they made up the holocaust.

Jew's made up the holocaust huh?.

I guess the bodies we found when retaking germany were magically manufactured.

The US involment in Irq itself is a mistake. The president who led us there is not worthy of the office.

But to say that poor innocent muslims are being murdered by, the oppressive west is bad comedy at its finest.

He's baack!! Forget Bin-Laden..this is the guy to get. People made fun of Jerry Falwell for being far out but at least he didn't have a militia. The religious right, or left, if that is possible,,are the cause of most of the problems in the world. the socialists all like to put the blame on business but the leaders who do not produce anything are the real source of death and destruction... people busy earning money don't waste their time on riots, mobs and anarchy. only those selling eternal rewards with no proof given..

So tubby crawled out of his iranian cave and saw his shadow, 4 more weeks of jihad.

Shoot the fat pile of crap between the eyes and bury him face down, feet toward Mecca in pig guts. That will serve as a warning to the next morbidly obese 'radical cleric'.
