Bush and Israel's Olmert to meet on June 19
May 31, 2007, 15:43 GMT
Washington - US President George W Bush will meet with embattled Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in June, the White House said Thursday.
Olmert will visit Washington on June 19, Bush's spokesman Tony Snow said in a brief statement. He said the sides would discuss their 'strong bilateral relationship' and 'a wide range of regional and international issues.'
Olmert has been under intense pressure to resign since the publication of an internal report that cited failings during last summer's war with Lebanon.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice cancelled a trip to the region in early May due to the political turmoil in Israel.
