Danish foreign minister urges Arab states to call for calm in Gaza

Jun 13, 2007, 13:43 GMT

Copenhagen - As reports of heavy clashes continued in Gaza between rival Palestinian factions, Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moller Wednesday urged Arab states to call for calm and restraint.

Moller said that if Hamas prevails in the ongoing fighting it could mean the 'end of the two-state solution with an Israeli and Palestinian state side by side,' news agency Ritzau quoted Moller as saying.

The foreign minister said he had discussed the Gaza crisis with the foreign ministers of Syria and Israel and also spoken to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

'The Arab states have to take the lead now. I don't believe the West can halt the fighting. Syria has to put pressure on Hamas and Saudi Arabia has also to come onboard,' Moller said, noting that a Saudi Mideast peace plan was in tatters.

Moller said he planned to visit the region in early July.

Abbas played the role of a suicidal fool. He allowed this to go on:

Now the EU proposes to make the same mistake. I do understand that it is occasionally necessary to deal with a demon, but some demons are too intensely evil to tolerate and Hamas is one of them.

Our politicians are fools for not taking full cognizance of this danger and eliminating it. Our news organs are fools for not shouting it from the rooftops. We are being led to the slaughter by little gray men Hamas and other Islamo-fascist organizations like them know it.

It is time to wake up people. It is time to condemn these monsters for what they are and it is time to kill, capture and jail them.
