Iran calls on comprehensive solution Palestinian crisis
Jun 18, 2007, 16:35 GMT
Tehran - Iran on Monday called on a comprehensive plan to solve the ongoing Palestinian crisis.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told Al-Alam news network that Iran could in no way accept the current situation in Palestine but called on a 'comprehensive plan and consideration of realities for settling the dilemma.'
Mottaki gave no further details and just said that the Palestinian people expect from the political groups to work besides each other to realise their aims.
The minister further reiterated Iran's call on all relevant groups in Palestine to maintain tranquillity terming internal clashes as just helpful for the enemies of the Palestinian nation.
Iran backs the Hamas group, but has constantly denied charges of financial and military support for the radical group, saying that Tehran's support is of a purely 'spiritual nature.'
