Arab League chief says Lebanon mission experiencing "obstacles"

Beirut - Arab League Secretary General Amr Mussa Wednesday said the Arab League mission he was heading to solve the Lebanese political crisis, was facing 'obstacles.'
'There are obstacles but the solution is not impossible,' Mussa said after meeting with pro-Syrian Lebanese President Emile Lahoud.
Mussa was scheduled to meet Wednesday with Lebanese army commander Michel Suleiman and representatives of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, who are heading the Lebanese opposition against the western-backed government of Premier Foaud Seniora.
Tensions remain high in Lebanon, which has witnessed a series of deadly bombings and assassinations, a continuing political vacuum and fierce clashes between the army and Islamist militants in the north.
Arab foreign ministers meeting in Cairo on Saturday decided to send a delegation to Beirut to try to solve the impasse among the Lebanese leaders and return them to dialogue.
Lebanon's ruling coalition accuses Syria of being behind political assassinations in Lebanon. It also accuses Syrian intelligence services of backing militants from Fatah al-Islam, who had been battling the army at a Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon since May 20.
The Arab delegation, includes officials from Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
Mussa said upon his arrival to Beirut airport on Tuesday said that 'the circumstances are difficult and dangerous winds are blowing on Lebanon, but we think that the Lebanese will eventually come to an agreement.'
