Hamas rejects Abbas decree nixing armed groups (Extra)
Jun 27, 2007, 13:35 GMT
Gaza City - The Islamic militant Hamas movement dismissed Wednesday a presidential decree dissolving armed groups in the Palestinian Territories and said it was 'mere ink on paper.'
'No one has the right to determine the groups' future as long as the occupation remains in place,' Hamas said, as its gunmen confronted an Israeli army incursion into the Gaza Strip which killed at least 12 Palestinians,
President Mahmoud Abbas issued the decree Tuesday night, outlawing militias and irregular military or paramilitary groups operating in the Palestinian areas.
The decree comes a week after a presidential order banning only the Hamas militias, issued by Abbas after the militant movement routed his Fatah party's forces in five days of savage fighting to take control of the Gaza Strip
Fatah spokesman Ahmed Abdel Rahman said Wednesday that Abbas' latest decree was was part of the efforts 'to tackle the security chaos and scene of rebellion.'
It is unclear how the new decree will be enforced, at least in the Gaza Strip, where Abbas no longer has any authority.

Israel or evil The EuropeanJun 27th, 2007 - 18:53:28
The Israelis have absolutely no right to call any one else in their past or present history.
The Jews are proving their true colours and credentials as a set of evil bloodthirsty horrible and brazen land thieves.
We in the west are partly responsible for these people, s evil acts by giving them political and enormous financial support.
