Turkish commandos enter Iraqi territory
Aug 5, 2007, 10:47 GMT
Baghdad - About 350 Turkish commandos were centred in the Iraqi border region of Dahuk Sunday after Turkish artillery bombarded villages near the Iraqi-Turkish border overnight, an official security source on the border said.
It was unclear whether the Turkish forces would stay in Iraq's Kurdish Autonomous Region or pull out, the source added.
Turkish forces have recurrently bombed Kurdish areas across the border to pursue members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), an organization Ankara views as terrorist.
