Sarkozy meets Jordan's King Abdullah on Mideast
Sep 3, 2007, 13:06 GMT
Paris - French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Jordan's King Abdullah II met Monday in Paris to discuss the Mideast peace process.
In a statement after the lunchtime meeting at the Elysee Palace, Abdullah described the talks as 'fruitful' and said that they had touched on the prospects of peace between Israel and the Palestinians and on the future of the region, in particular of Lebanon.
The meeting was the second between the Jordanian monarch and Sarkozy since the latter was elected French president in May.
Abdullah was scheduled to meet French Prime Minister Francois Fillon later on Monday.
