Oct 27, 2007, 8:52 GMT
Gaza City - At least three Palestinians were killed Saturday in a mysterious explosion that rocked a house in the south-eastern Gaza Strip, residents and security sources said.
According to the residents, a big blast occurred inside a house in Qarrara district to the east of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza Strip. The reasons behind the explosion were still unclear.
Mu'awia Hassanein, director of ambulance crews, said that a 2-year-old girl, a 42-year-old woman and a man from one family were among the dead.
According to Hassanein, four people, including two children, were wounded in the explosion which rocked the house of the Abu Sebet family. One of the wounded was critically hurt.
The residents said the blast might have been caused when an Israeli rocket landed on the house, while others said that it could be 'an internal blast.'
There has been no official comment on the incident which comes a day after five Palestinians were killed in various Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip.
