Nov 2, 2007, 10:51 GMT
Warsaw - A Polish soldier was killed on Friday morning during a bomb attack in Iraq, Polish Defence Minister Aleksander Szczyglo said in Warsaw.
The 31-year-old corporal died when his armoured vehicle hit a mine during a patrol in the southern central part of the country.
His three fellow soldiers were injured, one of them seriously.
Polish troops, which are stationed in the southern central part of the country, have been part of the operation in Iraq since April 2003.
So far 24 soldiers and civilians have been killed in the area.
The liberal winner of the October 21 parliamentary elections and prime ministerial candidate, Donald Tusk of the People's Platform (PO) party, plans to end the Polish mission in Iraq next year.
