Nov 6, 2007, 10:22 GMT
Amman - King Abdullah II of Jordan flew to London Tuesday for a three-day working visit to the United Kingdom, according to an official statement.
The monarch is scheduled to hold talks on Wednesday with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on ongoing 'regional and international efforts aimed at jumpstarting the peace negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians', the statement from the royal court said.
The discussion will focus mainly on the US-sponsored Middle East peace conference due to be held at the end of November at Annapolis, Maryland, it added.
King Abdullah also intends to seek Britain's backing for Jordan's efforts aimed at alleviating its external indebtedness, currently running at more than 7 billion dollars, the statement said.
