Israeli troops take Lebanese shepherd in southern Lebanon

Jan 7, 2008, 18:15 GMT

Beirut- A Lebanese shepherd was detained by Israeli forces on Monday at the edge of the common border, Lebanese and UN sources said.

Ahmed Abed al Aal, was taken from Shebaa Farms in southern Lebanese by Israeli forces, the Lebanese security source said.

The source said Abed al Aal was snatched while he was at the edge of the Lebanese territories just adjacent to the Israeli border.

UN Spokeswoman Yasmina Bouzayian said the UN peakeeping force in southern Lebanon was informed from the Israeli side that the shepherd was taken by Israeli forces.

Shebaa Farms is located where the borders of Lebanon, Syria and Israel meet. Some parts of Shebaa Farms are under the control of the Lebanese government and the rest has been controlled by Israel since the Jewish state's 2000 withdrawal from southern Lebanon.

The United Nations has said in the past that Shebaa is Syrian territory, captured by Israel in the 1967 war. Syria and Lebanon maintain that it is Lebanese land.

jojo, I doubt you are an American, because we know the truth, America is controlled by the free citizens of America, and we support Israel because they are a legitimate, free, democratic nation, unlike those who seek to destroy it (we, out of charity, support these other peoples - Palestininans in particular - with billions of dollars, in the hope they will choose peace if given an opportunity, which has unfortunately, until now, not happened).

What I really don't understand is why, when groups like the Nazi's who are so proud of their 'final solution' or the islamicists who are so proud of their 9/11 attack, do some people feel the need to try and say it didn't happen or someone else did it? It seems crazy to deny what the perpertraitors hold as their greatest accomplishments.

My eyes are wide open and the only abuse of the poor Pals has been by their Arab buddies. The Arabs chose not to accept the 1949 partition deal, or any other peace deal, at the end of British control. They made war instead and lost, thus they must accept the peace deal they agreed to. The exchange of populations, so I guess the only fair thing is for them to be givin lands in Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arbia, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen etc, as agreed.

Greg Potemkin,

No one was ethnically cleansed, nor are they being. Because Israel demands the Arabs and Pals live up to their agreements, including the exchange of population (where 3 times as many Jews fled persecution in Arab countries to Israel as Arabs fled Israel to await Israel's destruction) you blame Israel. how foolish. Blame the Arabs who refuse to give their brothers what they owe them.

You toss around the term 'ethnically cleansed' so easily, without facts to back up your hate. Don't excuse the Palestinians inhumane actions (suicide bombers, human shields, rocket attacks on civilian targets, kidnapping and using children as soldiers and to retrieve rockets) and unwillingness to make peace, and do respect the perspective of a people whose nation has been under siege from its neighbors unwarranted aggression for nearly 60 years.

If you cage even an animal and torment it continually, you should face the consequence. The Palestinian resistance has morphed into what it is today, as deadly and as murderous as their jewish tormentors.

The jews have refused to recognize numerous UN resolutions to return to the 1967 borders in an effort to help bring peace to the region.
Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has put forward a peace initiative since 2002 but The jews treat this and every other initiative to stop their murderous grab of Arab land with scorn. They continue to build even more illegal settlements because they are so confident that US will continue to veto UN resolutions/sanctions brought against them and continue sending them more deadly weapons with which that they shoot innocent women and children and continue to provide our children as cannon fodder in defense of their shitty existence in the wars they keep instigating against the Arabs.

Realist! It is not 'disputed' territory but occupied territory and part of the grand plan to occupy even more Arab land.

Moshe Dayan 'We would send a tractor to plough someplace possible .. in the demilitarized area, and knew in advance that they would start to shoot. If they didn't shoot, we would tell the tractor to advance farther, until in the end they would get annoyed and shoot. And then we would use artillery and later the air force also.'

Dayan describe military retaliations as a 'life drug' to the Israel Army. First, it obliged the Arab governments to take drastic measures to protect their borders. Second, and this was the essence, it enabled the Israeli government to maintain a high degree of tension in the country and the army.

Sorry, thought I made it obvious that the jews have been doing this for decades. Particularly now that Bush is in the region, how else to show Bush how 'bad' these Arabs really are and gain some mileage should the resistance respond to the provocation.

Or are you an armchair engineer, playing with your Lionel toy train set?

As for your adoration of thing jewish, and disdain for the palestinians, remember that there can be no response without a stimulus. Israel provides plenty of stimuli. Israel is nothing more than an ugly, little Spartan state. They are the ones who have earned every rocket fired at them. Israel is an artificial state created by politicians and has absolutely no justificatiob for existing. Everything about Israel is a lie starting with the numbers killed in their holocaust. It could not have been six million. There were only 5 million in Nazi held territories in 1941 and by 1943 over 2 million had been allowed to emigrate. And thet is historical FACT, not historical denial. Before you accuse me of being a jew hater, let's get this straight. I don't hate jews. I hate lies. Lies told by anyone, anywhere, anytime. I believe in the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. You have to leave all biases behind and look at it, study it, dispassionately. I have found that when a person can see both sides of an issue, then that person no longer has an opinion. They Know. Until a person Knows, then all they have is their own ignorance. That is it in a nutshell. An opinion is merely an expression of ignorance. And there are a lot of ignorant people out there.

And to the person who needs to know and does not believe in opinions. . .wow, since you can never 'know' all the information without bias or filtration, unless you personally witness everything, including peoples backgrounds and experiences, you cannot ever 'know', so therefore you only ever have opinion, based on the best sources available. That is all we really have, so, based on the facts at hand and my personal experiences I have the opinions I do, and you have yours.

I do see both sides, one has made peace under tough circumstances and made sacrifices to make that happen (Israel) and the other side demands concessions prior to negotiations and cannot even live up to the most minimal agreements they make (the Palestinians), those are facts. Both sides have gone beyond civil behavior at times, but only 1 side calls for the destruction of the other (the Palestinians again).

“...go look at the 1949 UN brokered agreement which resulted in the creation of the state of Israel, the signatories, including Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen agreed to the exchange.”

This is, of course, complete nonsense. Neither UN General Assembly Resolution 181, (the original partition resolution of 1947, which was rejected by all the Arab states, as well as Iran), nor the subsequent Resolution 194 of 1948, nor any of the subsequent armistice agreements between the Zionist entity and Jordan, Syria, Egypt, or Lebanon contained any reference to an “exchange of population”.
All of these documents are available online at lebanonwire.com, if one has the patience to actually read through them.

Obviously, the person calling himself “realist” is regurgitating some nonsensical Zionist claim which was intended to justify the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians on the basis of a so-called exchange.

This information is being provided, just in case anyone is foolish enough to buy into any of his claims.
