Hamas says it wants to disconnect economically from Israel
Jan 31, 2008, 22:28 GMT
Tel Aviv - A top Hamas official in the Gaza Strip said his organization is looking to completely cut all economic contact with Israel.
In an interview with the Palestinian news agency Maan, Ahmed Yousef, a former advisor to Hamas leader Ismail Haniya, said the move would include trying to reroute goods, including fuel supplies, to Gaza through Egypt.
The plan would push for an end to the enclave's 40 years of contact with, and dependency on, Israel, by tightening ties with 'Arab and Islamic countries,' he said.
He also said Hamas 'insists on having a role in the management' of the Strip's southern Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
Another Hamas leader, Mahmoud al-Zahar, in Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials over the border chaos created last week when militants blew holes in the wall between Gaza and the Sinai peninsula, also told the Al-Jazeera channel that his movement was seeking more control.
He said Hamas would be willing to share the responsibility for the border with the Presidential Guard of rival Mahmoud Abbas from the Fatah faction, along with a European Union supervision team, but that it would not allow for Israel to have any control over the crossing.
It remains doubtful that the Europeans, who have boycotted Hamas over its refusal to recognize Israel and renounce violence, would agree to work with the Islamic group.

Non murdering Pallies would be OK too.
ah, it is so refreshing seeing brotherly love such the one Egypt is bestowing on the pallis. It took Hosni 1 week to start chocking Gaza and for that matter he does not care to sacrify anyone living east to the suez.
What a wonderful victory.
Hi marge, I am Mahmoud Zahar. Yes I lead The Hamas during the day, but at night I like to cut lose and have a little fun just like everyone else. I do the social scenes, yeah yeah. .I do a little boogie and get down. But no one seems to take me seriously. What is it with the women today??? One dance and they go back to the table with their girl friends and giggle. I just do not get it? It makes me so mad I just want to send out my boys to blow something up. Now one day I will be traveling to America. I hear that American girls really boogie. That is all I will say now. Power to Islam and my Swiss bank account. Yes girls I have a big one… Swiss account that is…
All I can say is:
Being a Palestinian today is very exacting and demanding. There are just so many masters. You got Allah of course, than the family Imaman. Then the Terrorist group leader and if that wasn't bad enough you have the HamAsses, Fathaha, and PLO people. All bossing us around. It never ends, and what's worse is that they all have their preverbal hand in your pocket........If you know what I mean..wink wink;>)
Finally, I can not forget my dear wife (my second cousin) no wonder she wears a rag over her head. She looks like the back end of my camel. Why could I not have had a Brittney Spears or Jane Fonda... Oh boy...what's a Palestinian to do????
No wonder so many of my people elect o blow-up. Wouldn't you?
Remember if you think the Palestinians stink it is because I-bin Farten!
I am still wondering where all the PLO money went 3 Billion dollars Mrs. Arafat knows so do some of the Fatah fat boys. No one is talkin????
Well our leader will get more, you can bank on it.

Smile it is really pathetic like the whole of Palestine
Just to remnind you how jews work. I will post this many times.
Of all these comments from zionists and friends, one struck me, Post directed at Marge. It reminded me about a book I read a couple of years ago. 'Infidels' written by Andrew Wheatcroft.
In page 106 he writes about the Christian obsession with newly converted Jews. 'These false converts were said to make constant attempts to undermine the Christian kingdoms' and mentions the 'forged text' like the concoction in 1492 of the letter of Yusef, Chief of the Jews of Constantinople.
'Asked by the Jews of Spain how they could resist the King of Spain who was forcing them to convert or even killing them, Yusef is 'supposed' to have replied:
Where you say that the King of Spain would convert you to Christianity, do it because you have no alternitive. Where you say that they deprive you of your property, make your sons merchants so that little by little you can take theirs. Where you say that they are robbing you of your lives, make your sons doctors and apothecaries so that you can end theirs. Where you say that they are destroying your synagogues, make your sons clerics and theologians, so you can destroy their churches. And as far as your other troubles are concerned, make your sons advocates, administrators, lawyers, and advisors, and let them take part in affairs of state so that you can gain land.'
He forgot of cours to mention the media but it's understandable by that time.
So Mr. whatever your name is, L'Chaim!
You Palestinians claim to be tough and rough guys... No?
How could a few words affect your sensitivity, when rockets that you shoot at innocent people evoke your misdirected anger, and you do not even give a second thought to any deaths except if it perpetuates your “war” causes. Have you and your Hamas friends ever stopped to think that if you ceased shooting and attacking the Israelis this would will stop further Israeli responses??? Uhhhh??? You can’t claim to want a peaceful existence when you instigate every conflict. You and marge claim that Israel is trying to choke the people of Gaza. NO but why should any country or people have to deal with people that have swore to destroy them as the fighters of Gaza now do. Isn’t one of their great claims deaths to Israel?
Look at Egypt and Israel; they were once great enemies, now they have peace and commerce. Finally it appears that the Hamas are at war with everyone and everything that do not agree with them or their causes. Look they are even fighting the other secs of Palestinians the Fatah?? How peaceful does that sound?? The Gaza officials if one could call them that, should be setting up an economy to feed their people before they set out to war. And finally what is this garbage that the Gaza fighters hid behind women and children in hope that there will be collateral damage. That is truly bogus.
It appears that your people want, but will not give. It take hard work to build a new nation. Any idoit can pull a trigger to kill and destroy. Instead of hidding behind corners waiting for a counter attack. Try to sit down for peace and commerce. You would be supprised at the response. What are big tough guys like you affaid of some hard work peace and success???
I tell you why there will never be a peace agreement
At the time of UN partition in 1947 the demographic problem was of the greatest concern for the Zionists because Palestinians outnumbered Jews in Palestine. (Notice the name of Palestine)”The proposed Jewish state: 498,000 Jews vs. 435,000 Palestinians; and the proposed Palestinian state: 10,000 Jews vs. 725,000 Arabs. These population numbers make it very clear why chasing the Palestinians from their land became a Zionist imperative.
Note the early Zionist popular saying “A land [Palestine] without a people for a people [Jews] without a land.
On 5 June 1967, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike (notice the similarity to Bush’s initially proposed preemptive strike against Iraq) against Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Because Israel managed in the first few hours to destroy the Arab air force by attacking its military air bases, Israeli air power was able to assure a quick victory. A prime basic cause was the unequal access to the area’s limited resource of water. “Israel’s victory had reversed the balance of water resources in the Middle East. Its occupation of the Golan Heights gave it control over the Banias headwaters. Israel’s occupation of the West Bank gave it important groundwater resources; by contrast, Jordan lost a third of its population and agricultural land, accounting for 45% of its GNP.
Powerful religious fundamentalists and others with their goal of a Greater Israel won the day and settlements began to be built in the Occupied Territories. Jewish settlements being built in the Occupied Territories while it [the U.S.] continued to finance these settlements with ongoing very large annual funding given to Israel. A great deal of land around the settlements and along the interconnecting Israeli only road systems has been seized and cleared of Palestinian homes and centuries old olive groves.
The detailed maps of the present settlement systems in the Occupied Territories are not generally available to the outside world. Three million Palestinians are forced to live with these settlement “facts” (plus the ever ongoing Palestinian home and farm demolitions, and a general breakup of their civil infrastructure) day in and day out.
It seems to be forgotten that the Arabs were in no way responsible for the Holocaust. Why should they pay the price? You as a strong part take whatever I have and then invite me for peace talk. What logic is that?
You have a much distorted view of the truth...But that is why your people are failing instead of growing> Why you say there can never be peace. Instead of living and building you and your kind are hating and destroying. The problems that you suffer are ALWAYS caused by someone else??? The victim ploy is wearing a little thin... maybe it will take another generation to realize that one should look in the mirror to see one faults and problems then maybe you will see that the problems are from small minded group of gangsters that the world calls terrorist and you call Hamas. These people (maybe you are one of them) could not exist in peace. I think it is time to stand up as a man and a people and take responsibility for you own actions and future. You blame your current economic problem on Isreal??HA that is the funniest thing I have ever heard. What happened to ALL THE MONEY THAT ARAFAT PUT INTO SAFE KEEPING IN SWISS BANKS?? HOW MANY BILLIONS OF DOLLARS were stolen from your people??? How many more are being stolen at this very moment by your current leaders??? The money is flowing in from all over the Middle East. but the Saudi’s just stated that this flow will not last for ever. Look how the Hamas leaders and inner circle live and look at the average Palestinian. That is the crime. The average Arab except maybe in Yemen likes the Jews over your people. In addition to the Saudi’s I have heard said that certain countries are also getting tired supporting a failed people. The world is changing and growing everyday, and you and your people (by choice) are falling further behind everyday. I find it pathetic instead of growing a country and an economic system you grow an army that is filling your people with hatred and lies. The world pities you because it does not know. No one would pity your kind if they knew the truth of your hate. IRIAN GET A JOB AND GET A LIFE>
The Hamas is at war and will stop at nothing to kill. They shoot rockets unprovoked, and claim inane excuses of retaliation for something or another. There is always an excuse to kill, how about one for peace??? They want to be the victims if they lose; for it plays better in the worlds media. If the Hamas really cared for their people’s future they would stop the hostilities and fighting . Everyone knows otherwise many innocents on both sides will be hurt or killed . I suppose it is easier for the morally corrupt to wage war and to destroy than to make peace and build. What a sad people. They can not even stop fighting their own. Look at what happened last summer, they killed many Palestinians (Hamas against Fatah). That is considered justifable. Had Israel cilled one it would have been an international travisity. Hamas is a good defination for the bankrupt.
The breach in the border wall with Egypt is an excuse to get fighters into Israel from the Sinai. Just watch and see. Ofcourse if these Hamas are killed it will be another example of 'poor palestinians being killed by Israel. The poor poor morally bankrupt Hamas.
For your knowledge Mr. zionist
The scientific progress made by Iran is an auspicious movement which is promising for the future of my country. We have ranked top in international Olympiad contests. If any nation wants dignity, strength, independence, national identity, security and welfare, it has to build up its scientific capability and that's exactly what we are doing. It is an undeniable reality and the nature of human life. Iran is currently passing through glorious period, but, there is still a long way ahead to make good on backwardness.
We do have a life, it's just that we feel Palestinians should have it too. When it comes to Palestinian leaders, I tell you frankly, we don't like them. We resent them. They belong to a trash can.
L'Chaim!
it is clear that even if Israel ceases to exist the palestinians, arabs, muslims would still be angry and fighting( even each other or whatever new enemy they manage to find). Why? They follow a creed that glorifies death, revenge and intolerance. This generation is already lost to their poisoned believes. One can only pray that God will make them all see the wrong of their evil ways. Very simple, as long as they dont see women as equals, as long as they want to kill people who name bears Mohammed or draw cartoons of their Deities, as long as it is better for them to blow themselves up for that stupid belief of the virgins in heaven. We will know that these people are still stuck in the 13th century. It is no coincidence that societies who manage to separate religion from govt. have prospered. The ability to tolerate and accept that we as human beings can believe in different religions and political views. That we are free and fearless and we have an open mind to explore and relate to every other human regardless of gender, race or religion, is what makes us 'infidels' better than all of you would ever be. Why dont you all dedicate yourselves with the same passion and emotion to educate your young. To prosper economically, to become the next superpower, why not ?because you even hate yourselves and it easy to destroy, kill and blame someone else than to work hard and prosper. You still act like nomads
Where do you live I would love to get together and chat for a while.
Hello blokes I am a bit curious... I assume this chap Iranian is an Arab terrorist and probably in hamas. So be it.
I am a bit curious how the Arab media can claim that civilians were injured (showing a picture of a guy with a black mask holding an AK-47 being carried into hospital). That must be the 2008 designer look for Gaza men. I can't wait to see it on the runways in The Paris fashion season this spring. Oh Brother the world is tired of hearing about the plight of the POOR Palestine when they have been more a victim of there own corruption. Where is the 3 Billion dollars that Arafat and the fat boys stole???? Mrs. Arafat knows......
One last thought… What organization/government would launch rockets at neighboring country expecting retaliation and in the process put your civilians in between the fighting and in harms way?? I thought governments are supposed to protect their people??? These Hamas do not care about their people or anything else therefore they are not a legitimate government. If the people support these Hamas then they are part of the fight and expect to be in the fight. The world should ask these questions. The Hamas could never exist in peace, they only kill…ask the Fatah.

I hope the Palestinian people can become independent of Israel. Free Palestinians will be good news for all.
