OSCE parliament head discusses peace, democracy in Jordan

Amman - The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Goran Lenmarker, discussed with Jordanian officials Thursday latest efforts to spur the Arab-Israeli peace process and democratic moves in the region.
Lenmarker, who doubles as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee at the Swedish parliament, held separate talks with Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, Foreign Minister Salah Bashir and speakers of the two houses of parliament.
Lenmarker's talks in Jordan focused on the prospects for spurring dialogue aimed at narrowing gaps among various civilizations and faiths boosting democracy in the region, officials said.
