Germany donates police cars to Palestinians
Mar 19, 2008, 16:37 GMT
Berlin - German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Wednesday handed over the first two of 20 new police vehicles promised to the Palestinian Authority.
Steinmeier praised the efforts of the Palestinian civilian police force to establish its authority in sensitive areas like the West Bank city of Nablus.
Security was vital for an improvement in the living conditions for the Palestinians, the minister said during a meeting with Hael al- Fahoum, the Palestinian representative in Germany.
Germany's foreign ministry recently agreed to a package of speedy measures designed to enable the Palestinian authorities to assume responsibility for their own security.
In addition to the light-blue police vehicles, the remainder of which are due to be delivered in April, Germany has also donated 100 mobile radio devices to the Nablus police.

If the 'palestinians' will use ambulances to transport weapons, ammunition, and combatants (as they have been proven to do, along with using the packaging for food aid provided by the UN to transport explosives, a war crime), what makes Germany think that it will use police cars for a more legitimate purpose?
