Israel to seal off Palestinian territories for Passover (Extra)
Apr 17, 2008, 20:23 GMT
Tel Aviv - Israel will seal off all Palestinian territories for about a week due to the Jewish Passover holiday which begins Saturday evening, the military said Thursday.
For security reasons, nobody will be allowed to enter or leave the West Bank and Gaza Strip without special permission beginning on Friday, a military spokesman said.
The border closing will continue until the end of next week. Passover commemorates the biblical exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt, freeing them from generations of slavery.
