Israel accuses Hamas of fabricating fuel crisis in Gaza Strip
Apr 24, 2008, 8:33 GMT
Tel Aviv - Israel Thursday accused the Hamas administration in the Gaza Strip of causing a 'fabricated crisis' by refusing to collect and distribute one million litres of fuel delivered to the salient.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said Wednesday that 'there is currently no fuel available in the Gaza Strip on the open markets' and as a result the organization would be forced to halt food assistance to 650,000 refugees in the enclave.
But Israel Foreign Ministry spokesman Arye Mekel said the million litres of fuel, which he said was enough for humanitarian needs, that Israel transferred to the Gaza Strip three weeks ago is still waiting to be collected on the Palestinian side of the Nahal Oz fuel crossing terminal.
'Hamas can take the fuel but doesn't,' he charged, accusing the Islamist organization of deliberately wanting to claim there is a crisis in the Strip.
Residents of the Strip said Hamas officials have taken fuel for their own purposes and given it to high-ranking officials, governmental employees and its own students, but has not distributed the remainder to the population at large.

LETS FACE THE FACTSApr 24th, 2008 - 10:33:22
The world feels bad for terrorists! No matter what America or Israel do the U.N. is never going to recognize terrorists or want to 'see' anything sneaky done by terrorist organizations. Sadly the Iraq war and the war on terror as a whole is an eventual failure. Not because these wars weren't right to be waged, but because the world in general is sadly too leftist and too cowardice to do the right thing. And when the likes of Obama or Clinton sadly become president we will all then witness just how cowardly, leftist and stupid mankind can actually be. We got a taste of it when we recently witnessed a famous leftist coward Jimmy Carter acknowledge a terrorist group in Gaza for no reason but to keep the terrorists legitimate in the eyes of the world. The Western world just doesn't have the stomach to deal with fundamentalist Muslims extremists and the extremists know it. The terrorists are like piranha slowly but surely taking small bites out of the West until she gets taken down. It's only a matter of time.
