Bomb kills police officer in Iraq's Tikrit (Extra)

Baghdad - An Iraqi police officer was killed on Friday when a bomb struck his vehicle in the northern city of Tikrit, police said.
Hassan Ahmed, a police officer, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that Jabar Ghazwan was killed when an explosive device was remotely detonated.
He added that the bomb, which was fastened to the car, is a new method by the militants.
Ahmed said that police officers in the city have lately been examining the new method of attack and ways to foil it.
