Four Iraqi soldiers killed in clashes in northern Iraq (Extra)
May 7, 2008, 11:06 GMT
Baghdad - Four Iraqi army soldiers were killed in clashes with insurgents in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a security source said Wednesday.
'An army patrol was engaged in clashes with a terrorist group Wednesday in a Mosul district, about 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, which left four patrol members dead,' the source added.
Mosul has recently seen a surge in violence, which is mostly blamed on Sunni insurgents regrouping in northern Iraqi provinces after they were driven out of Baghdad and surrounding areas.

Err... actually the violence has fallen off in Mosul after peaking in mid-April. Only 1 US soldier has been killed in Mosul since April 15.
