US President Bush offers to help Lebanese Army

May 13, 2008, 8:23 GMT

Cairo - Washington is ready to help the Lebanese Army respond more effectively to Hezbollah's armed supporters, US President George W Bush said in an interview with BBC Arabic television rebroadcast Tuesday.

Bush said Hezbollah was acting against its own people and accused the Shiite group of destabilizing Lebanon with the backing of Iran.

Clashes between Hezbollah supporters and loyalists of the governing coalition in Beirut and other cities erupted after the government acted to remove Hezbollah's communications network.

'I don't see how how you can have a society with Hezbollah armed up the way they are,' Bush told the London-based BBC Arabic channel.

Hezbollah has acted against the Lebanese people, not against a foreign country, the US president said.

This 'should send a signal to everybody that they are a destabilizing force,' Bush noted.

The Lebanese Army, many believe, has emerged as a key player and an accepted arbitrator between Lebanon's powers.

General Michel Suleiman, the army commander, is generally accepted by all powers as the only presidential candidate.

Bush made his remarks ahead of his Middle East tour, which will begin on Wednesday.

Bush said the US was helping the Lebanese Army improve its effectiveness to be able to act against Hezbollah.

The Lebanese government of Prime Minister Fouad Seniora should be helped in strengthening its capacity 'to respond with a military that is effective,' Bush said.

The US president reiterated his accusations that Iran was the source of instability in the Middle East saying Hezbollah would be powerless without Iranian support.

BUT IT IS INHUMAN to supply the warring factions more ammo. Saudies, zionist entity and US have been supplying arms ans ammo to Jumbladt forces, also Sa'ad Hariri's forces. THAT IS WHY THOSE THUGS ARE NOR TERRORISTS!!

But HizbAllaah run hospitals, do lots of other social work, help feed the poor in Lebanon, do help building Lebanon are declared terrorists by terrorist regomes of the world. Those very regimes supply ammo to these thugs.

shame! shame! shame!

The US and Israel are finally getting the desired outcome of their plot, a foot in Lebanon to help the Lebanese military defeat Hezbollah so Israel can conquer Lebanon. The PM of Lebanon is a fool to allow Bush and Israel turn the Lebanese people against each other to weaken the country for Israeli or foreign control. If the Lebanese people can't see this exact same thing happening in Iraq and the consequences, they deserve exactly what they will get as a result of US help in Lebanon.

Hezbollah probably does do good things, so why all the rest of the bad things to counteract the good they have done?

By the way, Israel does not need to takeover Lebanon and never will if it is not so highly threatened by the extreme elements of desecration.

Great, all we need is to get involved in another war. And for what? Control of middle east oil and fill the oil company coffers, support the military industrial complex, or so the Israelis can sleep better at night. Or maybe a combination of the three.

And this from the vacuous boy-Emperor who spends more on weapons of nukular mass destruction than all the rest of the world combined:

“I don't see how how you can have a society with Hezbollah armed up the way they are,” Bush told the London-based BBC Arabic channel.

As Bush offered to help the Lebanese Army start a proxy war with Iran for Israel’s sake.

Bush --- just doing his little part to begin WWIII.

Bush --- 'Successfully starting WWIII from 2003 on --- one country at a time'

What was the Summer 2006 offensive by the IDF? Israel wants to steal some more Arab land like they did in 1948 with their ethnic cleansing of Palestine. They want the Litani River in southern Lebanon. Hizbullah are the only ones who put Lebanon first!

After almost eight LONG years of dealing with the 'Idiot-Emperor' it is all too obvious who is the true 'destabilizing force' on this planet.

I wish Bush would shut up. He has effectively destroyed the American image and for worse the world economy and peace. I can not believe that he has the nerve to still speak his broken English about other countries destabilizing the world. The ironic thing is that Bush administration has vital interest in the Middle East, from 6000 miles away, but the regional countries must shut up and let this war monger government get his way every time.

The Lebanese Army must be thrilled considering how much help Bush has been to the US Armed Forces.

Hezbollah never acts without reason. The Sunni, Hariris people were the ones who came out with the guns against non-violent protests... Protests against American involvement and a do as we say approach by American diplomats. Hezbollah has only ever defended Lebanon against Israel (which shouldnt even exist). They have also had issues of coarse within Lebanon but during the civil war there were mistakes made on both sides. If anyone decides to listen to what Nasrallah says they will see that he only speaks reasonably and never acts unless the situation warrants it. Hezbollah does not take orders from Iran or any other outside group. Perhaps everyone should read a newspaper that isn't supported by the Jewish lobby(the Zionists) and talk to people who know about it...Those who are in the country and were raised there.

Only Israel benefits from these endless Middle East wars. Iraq is the beginning. As we commit war-crimes in Baghdad, the US gov't commits treason at home by opening mail, eliminating habeas corpus, using the judiciary to steal private lands, banning books like 'America Deceived' from Amazon and Wikipedia, conducting warrantless wiretaps and engaging in illegal wars on behalf of AIPAC's 'money-men'. Soon, another US false-flag operation will occur (sinking of an Aircraft Carrier by Mossad) and the US will invade Iran.. Then we'll invade Syria, then Saudi Arabia, then Lebanon (again) then ....

Um.....er.

By the way. Did George realize that the Lebanese Army is composed mostly of Hezbollah sympathetic Shia?

Someone really needs to tell this guy that. And when he begins to realize that, perhaps then he can explain why Hezbollah took control of the country and THEN turned the control over to the Army.

Yikes.

Bush is not only blind, he's dumb too. And so are people who believe such tall tales regarding the 'need' for the US to rescue Lebanon.

Hezbollah is already rescuing it and Thank Allah for that.

Another Divine Victory from the Ahl Bayt who, have..lo course, Divine Right from the Divine.

Peace

Whenever the minority American-supported government of Seniora tries to rule by fiat over its majority of second class citizens, including Hezbollah, and fails firmly and flatly, it inevitably blames Syria and Iran. They have taken a cue from their sponsor, my country the USA, which uses a similar excuse for our failure in Iraq.

Of course this earns them brownie points from the Bush administration which is in the process of manufacturing 'evidence' for their long-planned attack on the hard targets that Syria and Iran offers. No, they won't invade with boots-on-the-ground that don't exist - just make more rubble, corpses, widows and orphans (and oh yes, more terrorists than imaginable) with their favorite new precision-guided toys whose target co-ordinates are already programmed in and on their way with the latest carrier fleet to arrive in the Gulf.

If we had a congress that was not enervated and distracted, Grand Master Cheney, our own mega-suicide bomber (by proxy) would be long gone. But when the kaka hits the fan we can be assured who will be safely ensconced in his bunker. For more mischief.

I've been reading some comments attacking the US administration & blaming all the Middle East problems on the US & Israel. I'm not here also to defend them either. But people take a good look at what's happening there. There are some destructive forces ( Iran & their allies ) with hidden agenda;trying to distabiliaze the whole region & throw it into Chaos. Iran is looking for any ways to prove they are a regional power. They are a major problem in the Middle East.
