Norman Finkelstaein is a person Israel and AIPAC especially want to silence. He has the academic credentials to back the exposure of a pro- Israel media blitz. It is a 'public relations' movement, or propaganda by any other name that is shaping the minds of the American people in regards to unconditional American support of Israel no matter what international laws are broken or human rights violated. Norman Finkelstein is a brave voice in a field of sheep. His books are accepted for their high academic value and some are among the few un-biased texts scholars go to when studying the middle east.

The denial to allow him entry to Israel is more of a vindication of his work than a slander to it. It is a perfect example of what he writes about in text book detail and in discussions with Uber- Zionist Alan Dershowitz. Check out what Mr. Finkelstein has to say, a voice which is silenced in America too, and a voice America should hear.

I thought all Jews had a 'right of return' to Israel. How then can the Ministry of the Interior deny him entry, when they let in Meyer Lansky, the noted Mafia financier? And isn't this the same Interior Ministry that has declared US Reformed and Conservative Jews to not be real Jews, rejecting their marriages and conversions?

It'll be interesting to see if he just orbits Gaza in mid-air until the Palestinians stop building suicide vests long enough to build an airstrip to let him land. Thankfully, he has an infinite supply of hot air to keep himself aloft.

Wow! Dr. F. has long been criticized as commenting on Israel without actually having been there (though he has been to the occupied territories). Now that he is addressing that, he's locked out. That says to me that his arguments are quite persuasive. Can't have a truth-teller running around unrestricted.

Norman finkelstein is a rabid enemy of Israel and the Jewish people. He claims to be Jewish, which isn't necessarily true, and he uses it as an excuse to spew the most vile, exaggerated, anti-israel garbage in the world.

Finkelstein is the 'favorite Jew' of every neo-nazi website in the world. That tells you exactly why Israel is smart to not let in psycho crazy enemies like Finkelstein.

Do you let crazy enemies of yours into your home? Of course not. Neither should Israel.

Finklestein isn’t the only Jew the Zionists want out of Israel. Their racist contempt is more widely focused than most people realize:

Israel is in trouble. Serious trouble. And the stridency evident in the squawking we’re reading on this very blog is prime evidence of that.

Here's an interesting article describing the tensions inside Israel between various factions of Jews:

You cannot talk to a Zionist ,they think they are right even when the UN has them for violating such acts of injustce on international laws. They are a world on to there own and will stop at nothing to take all the land they want regardless of who they kill even Israelis. The people of Israel must stand up to these forces of evil and give back what does not belong to them. Then and only then will the road to peace begin. The other way would mean the genocide of a people, and where in the anals of history of we heard that before.

I think the act of refusing Norman Finkelstein an entry to Israel exposes
the vicious nature of Zionism and Israel.
Israel claims it is the 'only democracy in the middle East'
They simply forgot that 'Democracy'includes freedom of speech and ideas.
So they refuse Finkelstein Entry on the grounds of a 'security threat'
this is the tactics the zionists have been using for ages. Some 35 years ago they wanted to silence a group of Anti Zionist israelis so they arrested 40 people calling the 'Espionage and sabotage net'.It was later revealed that the group did not have one single piece of weapon and no information which relates to security was given by them .In 1986 they charged Vanunu as a spy for talking to a journalist from the London Times putting him behind bars for 18 years and limiting his moves and the right to speak freely ever since his release 4 years ago.Now the big threat to the security of Israel is Norman Finkelstein .The Zionist lobby headed by the arch zionist mouthpiece in the US, Alan Dershowitz, made sure he gets no tenurship at De Paul University and now he was crowned as 'A security threat'.
I hope liberals who support Israel will learn from this affair about How 'democratic' is Israel.
If this is the treatment jews get,can you imagine the treatment offered by Israel to the 'Enemy',the Palestinians.

In politics passion can be a two edged sword .This is what we see in this debate .
Daring to speak out aainst Israel is dangerous ,as the line between anti-zionism and anti-semitism is crossed sometimes .One has to be careful as the zionist lobby is very quick to equate every criticism against Israel as racism .Some of the previous posters are very keen on that like the person that tries to shove Finkelstein in the camp of neo-nazis .Not only is no example of that given but I guess none can be given,it is simply a lie .
Repeating it ten times only adds to the suspicion that the person that uses this affirmation knows that too and is just trying to add force to it by repeating it over and over .

The problem with those running the israeli government, and, I might add, our government, is that they think they can do anything they want, and they do. No one says a word, and, if they do, they are crucified. It amazes me that a people so persecuted, as we are constantly reminded, has turned around and persecutes to a horrifying degree another people. Having been brought up on a Pentecostal home and NEVER having criticized Israel, I began to educate myself, knowing fully well that those in control of the media in the U.S. do not tell Americans what is really going on in Israel in regard to Palestine, and if the media tries in any way to educate us, Anti Semite is what they hear. My view point has completely changed, and I no longer support Israel unconditionally. I think that the neocons who, make no mistake about it, are still running this country (U.S.), and those running Israel are the most dangerous people in the world. Norman Finkelstein is not the only Jewish person who has suffered for speaking the truth. For example, look what happened to Vanunu (sp?). He revealed to the world -- another very brave man -- that Israel has nuclear weapons. They scooped him off the streets of Italy and threw him in jail for 18 years! Some DEMOCRACY!!!

One may ask why the U.S. government offers unlimited support to a country that persistently and routinely violates principles that Americans hold sacred. The cancer cell’s strategy seems to be to make life so unlivable for Palestinians that those with options will leave, and those without options are controlled by the zionist state. Is this a strategy that Americans can support? Cancer cell’s supporters excuse zionist’s appalling violations of international law and human rights by insisting that it is a democracy and thus shares a lot with the United States. But that is not true. The cancer cell distinguishes between citizenship rights, such as the right to vote, which is available to non-Jewish citizens of the state, and nationality rights, which are reserved for Jews. This is not a feature of democracy as we know it. Several laws have been enacted in cancer cell whose intention is clearly to maintain zionists numerical superiority and to reinforce the Jewish character of the state, all of which belie the claim that zionist’s state is a democracy. Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in zionist’s state, has identified more than 20 laws in cancer cell that discriminate against Palestinian citizens of zionist’s state by working the Jewish character of the state into the text of the law. The cancer cell “Israel” defines “public good” in ethno-religious terms; lands expropriated from Palestinians for the “public good” benefit Jewish citizens only. The 20 percent of the population that is Muslim and Christian are regarded as a demographic threat. Obsession over the ethnic and religious composition of a country is also not a typical characteristic of democratic societies.

Israel and Zionism are the greatest threats against Jewish people since the Nazis.

Zionism turns Judaism into a 'two-tier' religion. All religions have at their base the golden rule, treat others as yourself. The Torah and the Koran even mae references to tolerance for other religions (as opposed to the Bible).

Israel is the literal interpretation of Zionism and offers a 'two-tier' justice system.

Once the door of racial inequlaity is opened, just a crack, the fundamentalists get ready to drive trucks through. It can only lead to eventual extremists taking over and taking the current 'soft' ethnic cleansing and cranking it up to a level the rest of the world can't ignore.

Thats when the Jewish people in the rest of the world will frantically try to explain that there is a difference between Israelis and Jews, which is the opposite message that Israel has programmed into people over the past 20 years. Good luck with that..

Asked by the Jews of Spain how they could resist the King of Spain who was forcing them to convert or even killing them, Yusef replied:

Where you say that the King of Spain would convert you to Christianity, do it because you have no alternative. Where you say that they deprive you of your property, make your sons merchants so that little by little you can take theirs. Where you say that they are robbing you of your lives, make your sons doctors and apothecaries so that you can end theirs. At the time of UN partition in 1947 the demographic problem was of the greatest concern for the Zionists because Palestinians outnumbered Jews in Palestine. (Notice the name of Palestine)”The proposed Jewish state: 498,000 Jews vs. 435,000 Palestinians; and the proposed Palestinian state: 10,000 Jews vs. 725,000 Arabs. These population numbers make it very clear why chasing the Palestinians from their land became a Zionist imperative.

Note the early Zionist popular saying “A land [Palestine] without a people for a people [Jews] without a land.

On 5 June 1967, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike (notice the similarity to Bush’s initially proposed preemptive strike against Iraq) against Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Because Israel managed in the first few hours to destroy the Arab air force by attacking its military air bases, Israeli air power was able to assure a quick victory. A prime basic cause was the unequal access to the area’s limited resource of water. “Israel’s victory had reversed the balance of water resources in the Middle East. Its occupation of the Golan Heights gave it control over the Banias headwaters. Israel’s occupation of the West Bank gave it important groundwater resources;

A great deal of land around the settlements and along the interconnecting Israeli only road systems has been seized and cleared of Palestinian homes and centuries old olive groves.

The detailed maps of the present settlement systems in the Occupied Territories are not generally available to the outside world. Support for Israel is garnered under false pretenses and enforced through coercive tactics. Americans should consider the effect of these strong-arm tactics on American’s public life. A small but powerful lobby has had an inordinate influence on the executive and legislative branches of the government, on the media, and on American’s public culture. Neither a former president nor Nobel Peace Prize winner like Jimmy Carter, or establishment professors from prestigious universities like John Mearsheimer (University of Chicago) and Stephen Walt (Harvard University), are immune from charges of anti-semitism if they question Israel’s (The cancer cell) policies. These assaults on the personal integrity of people who express non-mainstream political views have had a profoundly corrosive effect on free speech and public debate. Members of Congress of both parties accept pro-zionist’s political action committee money and in return, they support and initiate legislation in support of cancer cell, Israel. Both the public and the media have been trained to accept without question the unseemly spectacle of presidential candidates and elected officials who swear allegiance to a foreign country, as though this should inspire the trust of U.S. voters. Zionist’s illegal policies toward Palestinians and its neighbors have been the subject of more than 65 U.N. resolutions. Israel the cancer cell, routinely ignores General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, and its intransigence is defended by the United States. Supporting zionists puts the United States at odds with most of the people of the world, and it also means that the U.S. government grows accustomed to defending violations of international law. Yet United States is not above the law. Pro-zionist’s organizations and individuals have led the campaign promoting anti-Arab and anti-Muslim bigotry in United States and elsewhere. Generalizations and smears that would be easily identified as bigotry if African Americans or Latinos were the subject trigger no objections when they are made about Arabs and Muslims. Palestinians in growing numbers are demanding equal rights for all residents of Mandate Palestine. Americans can hardly oppose this demand while at the same time claiming to be a beacon of freedom and democracy for all peoples.

When it comes to the remarks made by Dr. Ahmadinejad and the following zionists media propaganda, this is what our president said.

'The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time'.

Word by word translation:

Imam (Khomeini) ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods (Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad (vanish from)

Ahmadinejad did not refer to Israel the country or Israel the land mass, but the Israeli regime. This is a vastly significant distinction, as one cannot wipe a regime off the map. Ahmadinejad does not even refer to Israel by name, he instead uses the specific phrase 'rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods' (regime occupying Jerusalem). That's because the word 'map' was never used. The Persian word for map, 'nagsheh', is not contained anywhere in his original farsi quote, or, for that matter, anywhere in his entire speech. Nor was the western phrase 'wipe out' ever said. Yet YOU are led to believe that Iran's President threatened to 'wipe Israel off the map', despite never having uttered the words 'map', 'wipe out' or even 'Israel'.

Having survived the holocaust i now see the Jews using Nazi tactics on the Palestinins, like placing them in ghettos, confiscating their property, and using false propaganda in the USA.
Its a shame, the Isrealis/jews should uphold the moral highground and behave responsibly.

It's cute how hard you anti-Israel loons, like the nutjobs above and on earlier pages, work to try to promote hatred of Israel, and hatred of Jews in general OTHER than the select few lunatics like Finkelstein who work hard to do the exact same thing, promote as much anti-Israel garbage as possible.

In other words, the only Jews you antisemites like are the small handful of mentally-diseased ones that spew horrible things about Israel.

Israel is not 'committing a holocaust'

Palestinians aren't 'fighting for freedom.' They are fighting to destroy Israel. If they ever just want freedom next to israel, in peaceful fashion, they can have it at any time. They've never offered it to israel.

An ugly rat was not allowed in. Bravo, Israel! Finally, Israel is coming to grips with its reality.

Israel is scrutinized because it is Jewish and democratic. The 22 fascist, ultra-conservative, dictatorial Arab regimes are not criticized because the leftists do not respect the Arabs. From their warped leftist perspective the Arabs are not prone to democracy and freedom. Therefore, why criticize them? They cannot do anything about it anyway.

Who cares about the persecution of Coptic Cristians in Egypt or discrimination of Kurds in Syria. Who cares that most Arab states who occupy the 99.9% of the Middle East are based on external/internal terror? Who cares anout the honor killings within the Arab societies? Who cares that the Arabs import and mistreat the foreign workers (slaves) from India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, etc.? Who cares about the slaughter of the Black Africans by the Sudanese Arab militia? Who cares about the gay Arabs in the Palestinian Arab areas who flee for their lives to the Jewish sovereignity so that they can remain safe and sound?

The world must ignore the Arab persecution of the innocent people and focus of the tiny Jewish land of Israel.

BobMay says:
'First Israel denies security to a former US President because they don't like his politics now they deny the 'right of all Jews to come to Israel if they wish' as stated by Wolf Blitzer. Israel does not seem to be that far behind the Junta in Myanmar in terms of being a totalitarian state. Maybe its time think about cutting aid to this 'Democracy'. '

So the US is far more Junta in Myanmar's dictatorship as she doesn't let all who wish to visit her a visa (-:
Didn't you think for once that Democracies have the right to protect themselves from lunatics?

Your spitting is the very fact that Zionism IS quite the opposite of Nazism. Are you really blind?

Your are speaking now a Falsetinian ProPALganda Shiity. Israel long left Gaza for the Falsetinian Gazans so your claims are totally wrong and I would suggest even falsified. Arabs send their kids to blow themselves off in the streets of Israel or to body protect their terrorists squads that afraid of Israeli hunting. Arab terrorists seldom aim to kill soldiers but prefer civilians. Just read the late news of the last 100 years.

Nazis didn't protect themselves from Jews but murder them because of Anti Semitism as shown by you. Jews don't kill Arabs because they are Arabs but kill Arab Terrorists because they are Terrorists. The minute they stop threatening and killing Jews, the minute the Jews to stop killing their potential killers. Arab from Palestine joined the Nazis in WWII and assisted them to murder Jews in Yugoslavia, Greece, Hungary and Transylvania. The Nazis in you story are clear to be the Arab Palestinians.

Israel now consists of a bunch of neo-Nazis who are worse than the Nazis themselves. The oppressed have become the oppressors.
