Dutch Islam critic meets foreign minister on charges in Jordan

Jun 26, 2008, 6:16 GMT

Amsterdam - Dutch Islam critic Geert Wilders praised Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen for taking Jordan's decision to charge Wilders with incitement against Islam seriously, news reports said Thursday.

'It speaks to his credit although I am not at all comfortable about the situation,' the leader of the Dutch Freedom Party said Thursday, a day after talking with Verhagen.

Wilders had requested the meeting to discuss the consequences of a Jordan public prosecutor's decision to charge him over his 16-minute political film Fitna, released late March.

In the film, Wilders expressed his concern about what he called the Islamization of the Netherlands and the spreading of Muslim fundamentalism in Europe.

The group that pressed charges against Wilders in Jordan calls itself the Messenger of Allah United Us.

Wilders said he and Verhagen discussed whether it was likely that another country that he might visit would extradite him to Jordan.

Theoretically, Jordan could file an extradition application through Interpol to a country that Wilders might visit.

Islam reinforces its credentials every dayJun 26th, 2008 - 11:42:37

Every day Islam reinforces its credentials as totally EVIL. How can Jordan possbly pretend to be a 'moderate' country when it has the colossal effrontery to try to employ its own legislative process to attack residents of foreign countries. What greater proof is needed that the spreading of Muslim fundamentalism in Europe is indeed a serious danger to life and civilisation - and that the 'Messengers of Allah United Us' have nothing godly or worthy about them.

NO to Islam's ritual murder threatsJun 26th, 2008 - 11:51:20

Must be time to press for international action against (yet another) rogue state, which like Iran, is clearly determined to sacrifice itself and its own people for this Murderous Muslim tradition of destroying all and everything in the service of their malign god.

The Truth About IslamJun 26th, 2008 - 16:23:19

It's great to see that the world is becoming enlightened to the absolute evil that is Islam. The question is, will our spineless leaders and liberal appeasers allow this absolute evil to take over the world?

Islam is a dangerous religion which given a chance would destroy freedom, democracy and life as we know it. They cut peoples limbs for theft. Stone women to death for sex. Subjugate women and have no tolerance for other religions or non-believers. We must defeat political Islam and we should honor men such as Geert Wilders for what they are doing to expose Islam. www.homa.org for more information on Islamic laws.

The problem is that WOlrd leaders are being too cautious. I can't tell anymore if it is that leaders truly believe that someone has done wrong for stating what they believe in, or fear the consequences if they do not react to it properly. A little bit like the Al capone times. I am afraid we are going to need a leader that can stand up for what is right even if it means War. We have to perceive those things that cannot be seen.
Nobody likes a dead threat over their heads, but this is not the way for some Muslims to teach what is right I think Geert WIlders is right, he just set himself as an example and he is not the only one there. Muslims have aright to speak up but no threatened. It our right to speak up and our turn to say it is ok to discern.
