Hezbollah accuses UN representative of supporting Israel

Nov 1, 2008, 18:27 GMT

Beirut(dpa) - The head of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah's international relations department Saturday accused Terje Roed- Larsen, UN Special Representative for the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1559, of siding with Israel against Lebanon.

Nawaf Mousawi charged that Roed-Larsen's 'background and goals are well known, that he works to please the Israeli side by carrying their demands and presenting them as though they were requests urged by the international community

'This employee (Roed-Larsen) ignores the Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty,' Mousawi added.

The Lebanese army said on Friday 12 Israeli warplanes had violated the country's airspace by flying reconnaissance missions over northern and southern Lebanon.

'It seems that he forgets that Hezbollah is a basic component of the Lebanese government, whose cabinet statement has clearly stated the legitimacy of the resistance away from any unjust description of a militia,' Mousawi said of the UN official Roed-Larsen.

'It is the Israeli aggression that has destroyed the authority of successive Lebanese governments. What has restored state authority is the presence of a powerful and effective resistance capable of thwarting Israeli aggression and it goals,' he said.

On Thursday, Road-Larsen briefed the Security Council on Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's eighth report on resolution 1559 which was adopted in 2004.

The resolution includes demands for pullout of Syrian forces from Lebanon, the disarmament of all militias including Hezbollah and the extension of government authority throughout the country.

What i find funny is how it is wrong to support israel or israel is apartheid which is balony since the pals are growing in population and israel is surrounded by islamic dictatorships who want to destroy her yet muslims use the media to demonize israel when history would dictate otherwise...basically that means hizbolla has no say for anything since they are terrorists who are responsible for every death in the war since they attacked first...meaning stop complaining when it is clear you started it....

Really tired of the 'Poor Israel surrounded by countries that want to destroy it and hence everything Israel does and say is OK' excuse.
How about this: Countries surrounding Israel is sick and tired of Israel occupying their lands and acting like a bully in the neighborhood with no regard to their sovereignty and with total disregard to their people's right to live in peace and in one piece.

How about that...heh.

Please don't answer this if you are getting paid by the Israel government.
